A commercial hot water return pipe connects to a recirculating pump via dielectric unions and reducing tees with Pete's plugs. Ball valves and check valves isolate the pump assembly, while an aquastat and air release valve mount near the inlet. Flexible power conduit attaches to the roof or ceiling structure. For horizontally mounted pumps, the air release valve installs within four feet of the pump inlet per building energy efficiency standards, whereas vertical installations omit the air release valve.

THE AIR RELEASE VALVE IS NOT REQUIRED WHEN PUMPS ARE INSTALLED IN A VERTICAL POSITION.
