An exhaust fan mounts directly to a raised roof curb and secures with mechanical anchors. Flashing extends continuously from the roof surface up under the fan base, sealed at all vertical and horizontal joints to prevent water infiltration. A backdraft damper installs within the throat of the curb below a bird screen. Ductwork transitions from the ceiling grille size to the damper size.
