Suspension methods for rectangular, oval, and round HVAC ducts hung from an overhead metal roof deck with insulation and roofing. Support assemblies utilize one-inch wide by eighteen-gauge sheet metal hanger straps connected to one-inch by one-inch by twelve-inch long eighteen-gauge angles secured with number ten self-drilling Tek screws. Rectangular and oval ducts employ additional side screws for ducts exceeding twelve inches and twenty inches in depth. Round ducts up to twenty-inch diameter use single configurations while those twenty-two inches and larger require double hangers. A reference table specifies maximum duct dimensions, strap gauges, and maximum hanger spacings ranging from six to eight feet.
