An insulated pipe with surrounding pipe insulation and jacketing rests on a structural steel pipe support. A one-quarter-inch rolled steel, primed and painted insulation protection shield wraps the bottom of the insulated pipe assembly to prevent crushing of the insulation at the support point. Structural inserts are embedded within the insulated pipe support.
