The supply branch duct run-out connects to the variable air volume box inlet using a nominal duct size one step larger than the box inlet itself. A reducer transitions the duct to the inlet size, maintaining a straight duct length equal to three duct diameters upstream of the terminal. A conical take-off connects the supply branch to the main supply air duct. A rigid duct connection is required at the air terminal with no flexible duct allowed.
