Rectangular or round ductwork passes vertically through a concrete floor slab or metal deck floor assembly. The duct is housed within a minimum twenty-two gauge galvanized duct sleeve featuring a flange at the top. A half-inch perimeter gap around the penetration is filled with acoustical sealant on both sides, supplemented by backer rod and fiberglass insulation. Waterproof caulk is applied at the perimeter for waterproof floors only. Firestopping material is installed within the core at rated floors on both sides, with duct insulation applied where required.
