A dome exhaust fan or roof hood with a bird screen is mounted on top of a raised roof curb supported by the roof deck. The assembly features continuous insulation and a cant strip, all sealed by a roof membrane with flash and counterflash details extending a minimum of 12 inches. An exhaust duct passes through the deck penetration, sized per the architectural and mechanical plans. A gravity backdraft damper is integrated into the opening, supported by an angle attached directly to the interior of the curb.
