An insulated prefabricated roof curb provided by the fan manufacturer mounts over a roof opening sized two inches larger than the duct. The exhaust fan features an integrated birdscreen and a duct that extends to the top of the roof curb. Flashing ties the curb into the surrounding roof construction provided by the general contractor. A backdraft damper is installed at the base of the duct connection. Galvanized iron clips secure the assembly to the roof structure.
