An in-line pump assembly with an upstream strainer connected in the piping loop. The schematic shows isolation valves, a balancing valve, and pressure gauges arranged around the pump. A balancing valve is omitted when a variable frequency drive is present. The strainer is omitted if another strainer is already located upstream of the control valve for an air handling unit coil pump.
