An expansion tank mounts onto a new concrete housekeeping pad using a base plate with an eight-bolt circle and provided bolts with nuts. The tank connects to the side of the hot water supply main to prevent air or debris from entering the pipe. Piping includes a shut-off ball valve required to properly precharge the tank, a drain valve, an automatic air vent such as a Bell & Gossett model number 7 or 87, and an anti-thermo-siphon loop featuring a twelve-inch minimum drop. A new three-quarter-inch make-up water line ties into the assembly alongside a pressure gauge ranging from zero to sixty pounds per square inch with a gauge cock. The tank is fully insulated and provided with a protective metal jacket.
