A manufacturer-supplied rooftop exhaust fan sits atop a roof curb with an integrated backdraft damper. The roof curb includes a nailer strip and is set and leveled by the general contractor. Roofing materials are applied around the curb as required, with the curb height ordered to extend approximately eight inches above the finished roof. The exhaust duct penetrates the roof deck directly below the unit.
