Suspended piping systems are supported by threaded rods attached to the structure with vibration isolators in mechanical rooms. A factory-painted clevis-type hanger supports the insulated pipe, which includes a continuous vapor barrier for chilled and domestic water lines. A one-hundred-eighty-degree or three-hundred-eighty-degree galvanized twenty gauge insulation shield, twelve inches long minimum, is banded around the insulation using stainless steel or plenum-rated nylon. Multiple pipes are alternatively supported on a steel angle trapeze assembly with galvanized U-bolts or clamps and nuts and washers top and bottom. Anchoring methods must be submitted to the structural engineer for approval, and supports must meet specified paint requirements.
