A steel-to-steel moment connection occurs between two wide-flange beams. Typical continuity plates are provided at the top and bottom flanges with welded connections. A shear plate with bolts and welds connects the webs per the schedule on detail 1/S601. All continuity plates are specified as A572 Grade 50 steel.
