A vertical mechanical duct penetrates through a roof structure maintaining a one-inch minimum clearance. A roof curb surrounds the duct with a cant strip supporting the surrounding roofing membrane. The joint at the top of the curb is sealed watertight using canvas and lagging adhesive or duct sealant. Duct lining or insulation wrap is applied above and below the roof level as required.
