One-inch wide by eighteen-gauge steel strap hangers support the HVAC duct at eight-foot intervals. Number ten by three-quarter-inch self-tapping cadmium-plated sheet metal screws anchor the straps to the duct sides and bottom. All straps must remain tight against the duct and support members with pop rivets strictly prohibited.
