The damper blade is stiffened as required and positioned inside the ductwork, which is enclosed by external insulation. A handle with a locking quadrant mounts to an insulation stand-off on the exterior of the duct. The internal operating mechanism utilizes a one-half inch round rod pin supported by inside and outside end bearings, maintaining a one-eighth inch clearance all around.
