A sheet metal duct as specified connects to a main duct via a conical tap set at forty-five degrees. A locking quadrant volume damper is installed in the round branch duct above the tap. The takeoff dimensions maintain a minimum clearance sized at one-third the width or six inches minimum. Lateral takeoffs are used unless otherwise noted on the plans for supply, return, or exhaust air flow configurations.
