A roof drain is installed through a steel deck and insulation assembly, secured with a receiver pan and underdeck clamp. A sixteen gauge galvanized sheet metal plate is secured to the top of the roof drain strainer, serving as a hood intended to minimize rust staining at the overflow drain discharge. The edges of the plate extend two inches beyond the outside of the drain bowl and all sharp edges are smoothed. Roofing clamps into the drain at the specified clamping ring point.
