A main low pressure duct connects to branch metal or flexible ductwork through a takeoff equipped with a volume damper. Duct sealant is applied all around the connection, secured with a clamp required for flexible ductwork, and wrapped in duct wrap insulation. Separate diagrams specify maximum transition slopes of one to four for low velocity supply and return ductwork under two thousand feet per minute, and one to seven for high velocity systems over two thousand feet per minute.
