An in-line pump is installed within a piped mechanical system flanked by shut-off valves on both the inlet and discharge sides to allow for isolation. A threaded strainer equipped with a ball valve blowdown and a hose connection precedes the pump on the suction side to catch particulate matter. A zero to one hundred pounds per square inch pressure gauge is piped in with gauge cocks to monitor system pressures. Downstream of the pump, a swing type check valve prevents backflow and a circuit setter balances the flow rate.
