A venturi flow meter is installed within a straight pipe run to ensure valid pressure drop readings. The assembly requires a minimum straight pipe distance upstream of seven pipe diameters and a minimum of four pipe diameters downstream of the venturi element. Water flow must follow the indicated direction, and the venturi must be positioned to provide unobstructed access to the read-out hose attachment.
