The flexible connection assembly joins two duct sections while isolating vibration and movement. The minimum installed flexible connection shall be three inches wide. The fabric must be installed to provide a minimum of one inch of slack and shall be one inch wider than the installed spacing. The flexible connection slack shall not be used as an offset in any direction.
NOTES: (1) MINIMUM INSTALLED FLEXIBLE CONNECTION SHALL BE 3". (2) INSTALL FLEXIBLE CONNECTION TO PROVIDE MINIMUM 1" SLACK. FLEXIBLE CONNECTION FABRIC SHALL BE 1" WIDER THAN INSTALLED SPACING. (3) FLEXIBLE CONNECTION SLACK SHALL NOT BE USED AS OFFSET IN ANY DIRECTION. 3" (1)
