A supply or return duct transitions to a flexible duct runout connected to a plenum with one-half inch acoustical lining. The flexible duct is secured using duct sealer and a clamp, maintaining a length between three feet minimum and five feet maximum. The plenum integrates a linear diffuser at the ceiling line and incorporates typical duct straps and seismic supports. A volume damper is installed where specified or shown on drawings, and duct runout connections are coordinated per linear slot requirements. Installation follows manufacturer requirements and SMACNA recommendations, including a four-inch deep plenum painted black on the interior when no linear slot is installed.
