Gas piping penetrates an exterior wall framed with interior finishes, exterior rigid insulation, and exterior siding or finish. The interior wall penetration is sealed with caulk around the pipe. On the exterior side, a minimum twenty-two gauge sheet metal angle ring secures to the sleeve and the perimeter of the penetration is sealed weather tight. A minimum twenty-two gauge sheet metal hood with a forty-five degree extension and a bug screen at the opening face protects the penetration, supplemented by counter flashing referenced to architectural details.
