A sheet metal sound boot connects directly to a return air grille using two sheet metal screws on each side. The interior of the sound boot features one-inch acoustical duct liner for noise attenuation. The boot maintains a minimum throat depth of six inches, with offset dimensions of one-half the grille width and a twelve-inch minimum clearance. Hangers support the sound boot directly from the overhead building structure.
