A maximum 24-inch by 24-inch galvanized steel duct penetrates a one- or two-hour rated gypsum wallboard assembly conforming to U.L. U400 or V400. An annular space surrounds the duct, sealed with a minimum 1/4-inch bead of SSS or LCI sealant on one side and a minimum 5/8-inch bead of LCI sealant on the other. The penetration complies with STI System Number W-L-7029 for firestopping.
