A galvanized pipe sleeve passes through a drywall partition framed with metal studs, enclosing a pipe with optional pipe insulation. A one-quarter inch perimeter gap surrounds the sleeve and is filled with acoustical sealant on both sides backed by backer rod. A sheet metal angle ring with a minimum thickness of twenty-two gauge is secured to the sleeve. Fiberglass insulation fills the annular space, supplemented by firestopping material at rated walls on both sides. An escutcheon plate is installed on one or both sides where exposed on the piping.
