This assembly consists of a rectangular sheet metal transfer duct penetrating a partition wall. The duct is constructed from standard one-inch lined fiberglass-duct board and includes internal turning vanes to manage airflow. The penetration point where the duct passes through the partition must be sealed or caulked airtight to maintain the integrity of the wall assembly. The duct geometry requires a minimum length of one and a half times the duct width on the intake side and a minimum length of one and a half times the duct width on the discharge side to ensure proper air transfer.
