The floor sensor is positioned in the middle vertical layer of the concrete slab and installed directly between the radiant heating tubes. To maintain an accurate temperature reading, the sensor must be located away from manifold locations where the heating tubes bunch together. The sensor conduit is secured using appropriate fasteners and routes upward to a control box provided by others. The sensor remains inside the conduit so it can be easily replaced if necessary, and the end of the conduit or PEX tubing is sealed with a cap or silicone caulking.
THE FLOOR SENSOR SHOULD BE INSTALLED IN BETWEEN THE RADIANT HEATING TUBES AND IN THE MIDDLE LAYER OF THE CONCRETE (VERTICALLY). TO GET AN ACCURATE FLOOR TEMPERATURE READING THE SENSOR SHOULD BE LOCATED AWAY FROM MANIFOLD LOCATIONS WHERE THE HEATING TUBES TEND TO BUNCH TOGETHER. ATTACH THE FLOOR SENSOR CONDUIT WITH FASTENERS APPROPRIATE FOR THE INSTALLATION. FLOOR SENSOR SHOULD REMAIN IN THE CONDUIT SO THAT IT MAY BE REPLACED IF NECESSARY. CAP THE END OF THE CONDUIT OR PEX TUBING, SILICONE CAULKING MAY BE USED IN LIEU OF A CAP. CONDUIT OR PEX TUBING CONTROL BOX (BY OTHERS)
