An acoustically lined sheet metal return air collar extends out fourteen inches minimum and opens directly to the return air plenum. Two sheet metal band hangers suspend the assembly from above. A six-inch minimum clearance is maintained above the finished ceiling where the collar connects to the full-size ceiling return grille.
