A typical diffuser and register mounting assembly connects a rigid duct to a ceiling-mounted sheetmetal can. The setup incorporates a manual volume damper and a square-to-round adaptor or a 45-degree rigid round saddle tap and lateral Y-fitting for round duct branches. The duct drop transitions to a diffuser or register installed within a non-accessible ceiling type. Seismic bracing wire attachment follows architectural drawings and maintains a clearance equal to or greater than the diameter of the duct.
