A sheet metal branch duct connects to a main rectangular duct using a conical tap set at a forty-five degree angle. A locking quadrant volume damper is installed in the branch duct at a minimum distance of one-third the duct width, or six inches minimum. The branch round duct transitions from the main supply or return duct as specified.
