The round duct is supported by a 1-inch by 22-gauge or 1-inch by 20-gauge steel strap hanger secured with two number 10 sheet metal screws or one quarter-inch bolt. The upper end of the strap hooks over an overhead structural member and is fastened with similar screw or bolt connections. Maximum spacing limits of 24 inches and 36 inches apply depending on the strap gauge.
