A condensate P-trap assembly for an air handling unit (AHU) discharges into a waste system. The pipe connects to the AHU with a union fitting and features a removable cap on a tee for cleanout access, positioned six inches above the horizontal centerline. A primer and vent line extends upward from the downstream side. The horizontal pipe slopes at one-eighth inch per foot and terminates with an indirect connection to waste maintaining a minimum one-inch or two-times pipe diameter air gap per plumbing code. Calculations for head dimensions H and X are provided for both blow-through and draw-through fan configurations.
