A maximum 12-inch steel pipe or 4-inch copper pipe penetrates a 1- or 2-hour rated gypsum wallboard assembly conforming to U.L. U300 or U400. The annular space ranges from 0 inches minimum to 1-1/4 inches maximum around the pipe. The assembly incorporates a minimum 5/8-inch fill of LCI sealant and a minimum 3/8-inch bead of LCI sealant. A maximum of 2 inches of glass fiber insulation surrounds the pipe in accordance with STI system number W-L-5014.
