A ceiling exhaust fan is installed within a lowered ceiling plenum and connected to an exhaust duct. The square-to-round transition and attachment screws provide clearance for the backdraft damper to fully open. The exhaust duct has a twenty-six gauge minimum thickness and penetrates the ceiling assembly. The duct penetration is sealed in accordance with IBC section 717.6.2.1 and protected with UL fire-stopped assembly UL-F-C-7014. The basis of design is a Panasonic Whisper Green fan.
