A tapered tee cut from a W16x36 shape and cut off at a two-and-a-half-inch minimum depth bears on a structural steel beam sized per plan with a three-inch bearing width. One-quarter-inch thick full-height stiffener plates are provided each side at the ends and spaced equally at three feet on center maximum. A one-quarter-inch thick continuous edge plate is welded with three-sixteenths-inch fillet welds at four-to-twelve spacing. Additional connections use one-quarter-inch fillet welds on three sides typical.
