Turning vanes are installed inside rectangular duct elbows to guide airflow smoothly around 90-degree turns. The vane spacing is calculated as one-sixth of the duct dimension with a minimum spacing of two inches. The number of spaces is determined by dividing the duct width by the vane spacing. Vane radius is set to one and a quarter times the spacing, and the trailing edge extension is three-quarters of the spacing.
