The condensate drain line connects directly to the drain pan of the air handling unit at a size matching the nipple or at least one and one-quarter inches. A P-trap is installed with a minimum two-inch depth of seal and a one-inch minimum clearance. A Y-cleanout fitting is provided at each change of direction in the piping, pitched downward toward the drain. The discharge terminates above an open drain with a minimum air gap equal to twice the diameter of the pipe.
CHANGE OF DIRECTION IN PIPING PROVIDE Y-CLEANOUT FITTING AT EACH 1" MIN. D AIR HANDLING UNITS - 2" DEPTH OF SEAL FOR DRAIN PAN DRAIN LINE SHALL BE AT LEAST THE SAME SIZE AS THE NIPPLE ON THE DRAIN PAN, BUT NO LESS THAN 1 1/4" OR AS INDICATED ON THE DRAWINGS.
