A flexible duct connects to a sheet metal can suspended from the structure above using SMACNA-compliant hangers. The flexible duct is secured with drawbands and sealant, UL-approved tape, or a factory metal collar attached with screws and sealed. An optional electronic remote balance damper is installed within the run, which is limited to a maximum length of five feet. The sheet metal can fastens with Tek screws to framing at an architectural cove within a hard lid ceiling.
