A linear diffuser is integrated into a hard lid ceiling framed with metal studs by others and connected to a lined sheet metal plenum. Hangers compliant with SMACNA standards anchor to the structure above, supporting the plenum and flexible duct. A flexible duct of five feet maximum length attaches to the plenum and supply run using drawbands with sealant or UL-approved tape, or factory metal collars secured with screws and sealed. A manufacturer-installed balance damper is included in the run where applicable.
