A branch duct connects perpendicularly to a main supply duct with a transitional take-off connection. A volume damper is installed within the branch duct near the intersection to regulate airflow. Dimensional standards require the take-off radius or slope to be one-fourth of the branch width 'W' or four inches minimum.
