Branch ducts connect to main ducts via conical branch taps for round or rectangular mains and shoe tap fittings for round or flat oval mains. Tapered connections require a 45-degree angle where length L equals one-quarter of width W, with a 4-inch minimum. Each branch take-off includes a volume damper with a standoff handle for externally insulated ducts and a locking hand quadrant. Apply 12 inches of orange surveyor's tape to each volume damper for identification. Rectangular-to-round transitions accommodate main duct shapes, and all connections feature external insulation.
