A three-inch by three-inch by three-sixteenth-inch angle installs around a structural steel column when dimension A exceeds three inches. Three-sixteenth-inch fillet welds are specified typically for connecting the angle supports. A three-inch clearance is maintained typically from the column centerline. The deck supplier is responsible for providing required deck supports and closures around the column as required.
