Insulated exterior piping features a protective aluminum metal jacket secured with stainless steel rivets and metal bands. Longitudinal jacketing seams are positioned at the 3 or 9 o'clock position with the top lap facing downward for weather proofing. Metal bands secure the pipe insulation in place prior to jacket installation, maintaining a minimum of 1-inch clearance between the first band and the overlapping joint. The aluminum jacketing overlaps a minimum of 1-1/2 inches with the top lap facing down.
