The insulated pipe is supported by an insulation shield at the hanger with a saddle and weld. High compressive strength insulation with a nine pounds per square foot minimum density is positioned directly under the insulation shield. A vapor barrier type insulation is required for low temperature pipe configurations. The entire assembly is suspended by a hanger rod connected to an upper attachment, utilizing either an adjustable clevis hanger type one or type forty-three.
