A mechanical connection links a medium pressure duct take-off to a variable air volume or fan-powered box. A round or rectangular medium pressure duct connects through a conical or 45-degree tap and a reducer to a spiral pipe inlet sized per plans. The straight inlet run requires a minimum length of two duct diameters before entering the VAV or FPB unit. A companion exhaust fan curb assembly includes a bird screen and a minimum twelve-inch high roof curb, directing the roofing material to run underneath the fan base.
