A rectangular supply or return duct penetrates an exterior wall utilizing companion flanges on both sides of the assembly. The duct is secured to the wall with typical bolts, and all duct joints and perimeter penetrations are sealed with weatherproof mastic. Counter flashing is installed at the wall surface and secured with sheet metal screws, supplemented by continuous sealant to maintain weather resistance.
