A sheet metal sound boot with one-inch acoustic duct liner connects return grilles across partitions and ceilings. The assembly is supported from the overhead structure using twenty gauge straps spaced with a minimum twelve inch clearance. Return air grilles are coordinated with electrical lighting and architectural ceiling grids. Sizing is determined by airflow requirements ranging from eight inches for zero to two hundred cubic feet per minute up to fourteen inches for six hundred to eight hundred cubic feet per minute.
