A rooftop utility fan mounts on spring isolators or rubber grommets positioned over a concrete pad or sleepers installed by the general contractor. A flexible connection joins the fan unit to the main ductwork to absorb vibration and movement. A duct stack extends upward on the discharge side, while roof flashing and roofing materials are provided by others.
